The Northern Station February newsletter describes recent trends in neighborhood crime. There has been a 11% YTD decrease in violent crime and 32% YTD increase in property crime. Captain Greg McEachern has promised to have officers patrolling high target areas and address these thefts.

Captain McEachern offers 5 tips to reduce the likelihood that your vehicle will be broken into:

  1. Don’t leave valuable items in your car.
  2. Covering items with a blanket or other item doesn’t deter theft.
  3. Do not leave keys to your residence in the car.
  4. Lock your car!
  5. Please report any suspicious activity.
