Hayes Valley Neighborhood PARKS Group to change name and mission.

The Hayes Valley Neighborhood Parks Group (HVNPG) has been working since 1994 to raise funds for the renovation of and programming in five parks in Hayes Valley.  The group has been successful in helping to transform these parks and open spaces, and in developing different groups of stewards for each.

Now that each park is well on its way with its own advocates and friends, the HVNPG is concentrating on what they’ve been doing best over all these years—educating and inspiring at-risk youth to be healthy, non-violent, and to become environmental leaders of their community.  The group has chosen a new mission statement and objectives, but still needs a new name.  Please join us in helping them select one.  Vote for your favorite name choice or suggest your own. Please send your suggestions by April 1, 2009 to hvnparks@gmail.com.
