John Muir’s New Parent Liaison
Well, hello everyone! I would like to introduce myself as the new Parent Liaison at John Muir Elementary. My name is Lisa Fojo and I am very excited to be a part of the San Francisco Unified School District. I graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelors in Psychology. My interests and concerns revolve around school reform and my passion is listening, counseling and helping others.

What is a Parent Liaison? A Parent Liaison is assigned to STAR/Dream Schools to continue helping in building capacity at each school site to involve parent/ caregivers in the academic achievement of our students.

What is my vision as a Parent Liaison? I am here to help out! I want parents to be passionate for their children’s education. I want parents to be as supportive as they can by showing unconditional love and encouragement.

My vision is to work closely with parents to meet any problems or concerns they may have as well as get their ideas and voices heard.

Parent/caregivers of our students are of high importance here at John Muir and we thank them for all their efforts and contributions. Parents/caregivers participate in all major activities that the school holds as well as maintain an ongoing communication with teachers and principal. The goal is to progressively grow socially and academically here at our school.

How can you help? Get involved! One can become a school volunteer which can consist of various tasks such as tutoring, classroom help with special projects, donating school supplies and also spreading your thoughts and ideas for a peaceful bright future in education.
