Free Disaster Preparedness Training
by Daniel Farnan
Come and learn how to ‘Do the most good for the most people,’ starting with yourself and your family, by NERT training in June. San Francisco has implemented a disaster preparedness training program, which has stood as a benchmark throughout the nation for 20 years. The Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) training consists of six classes, designed to train people in personal preparedness and basic disaster skills.
NERT is the only organization in San Francisco that provides free, hands-on training by first responders in how to be self-sufficient after a disaster. The S.F. Fire Department has planned a NERT training in Hayes Valley for June 2010, and your participation is both welcome and encouraged. Contact danielfarnan@ yahoo.com with your interest and any questions.
