Volunteer to build haunted houses

Halloween is only a few weeks away and there are two groups who are in need of volunteers to build their haunted houses (lots of muscle & height), dress up & be a prop, story tell, and be a chaperon for day of event. Your gift of time will assure a safe, fun and memorable Halloween event for Western Addition youth and their families.

The first group in need of volunteers, to build their Haunted House, is the CA Public Utilities Commission. This is their 14th year of playing host, providing candy, balloon art, face painting, story telling, Dias Los Muertes Celebration, games and providing costumes to over 700 elementary kids annually. Their continued dedication truly embodies the spirit of community give back. In the past, CA PUC workers were able to get volunteer time off to build the house. Due to budget cuts that is a thing of the past, it is now time for community members to step up and fill this void. Your give back of time and energy will assure a memorable day for over 790 school children from John Muir, Rosa Parks, Tenderloin & Robert Louis Stevenson elementary schools.
