San Francisco Girls Chorus: Prospero’s Island
San Francisco Girls Chorus members will participate as vocalizing penguins in the world premiere at Herbst Theatre of Prospero's Island, a fantastical new chamber opera based on Shakespeare's The Tempest from acclaimed Bay Area opera creators Allen Shearer and Claudia Stevens. The co-production by Ninth Planet ensemble and InTandem features stunning imagery of the Falkland Islands, richly orchestrated music performed by Ninth Planet players, and glorious singing by a stellar cast.
