Public Safety
The Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association Public Safety Committee meets the first Monday of each month (except for holidays) at 6:00PM. For the last few years these meetings have been online Zoom meetings. The link to register for the meeting is posted on this website. The meetings feature many city department leaders discussing their department’s role in public safety in Hayes Valley and surrounding neighborhoods. Officers from Northern Police Station attend the meetings to discuss recent police activity in the area and to answer questions regarding public safety. All members of the Hayes Valley, the Western Addition, and Lower Haight communities are welcomed to attend the short meeting (ends at 7:15) and discuss their safety concerns.
A number of the meetings have a major theme where many city departments have been represented. From these meetings three Public Safety Bulletins have been produced regarding Homeless Issues, Crimes against Businesses and Non-profit groups, and Property Crimes. Many phone numbers and other contact information are provided on these one page bulletins especially for the local neighborhoods. Many SFPD, SF District Attorney’s office and SF SAFE (now Neighborhood Safety Team) safety flyers are also provided at the meetings. Join us on the first Monday of each month and go to this website to see the meeting theme and list of panelists.
